Eyelash extensions are going to change your life. Yes I said it, change your life. I know what you're thinking, "Extensions for your eyelashes? You've got to be joking." Imagine your best eyelash day: you finally get all the old mascara off, reapply and everything goes on smoothly, lashes are long, separated and defined. Now multiply that feeling times a thousand. If you don't believe me you can ask Lindsay, our new eyelash technician, who says once you start, you'll never stop. Waking up with long, defined lashes and being able to go makeup-less is an empowering feeling. Our manager Rita recently got her lashes done and she feels so pretty she's taking selfies! I must say I had never noticed how beautiful her eyes were until she got the lash extensions. Kerrie is the queen of eyelash extensions; she always looks stunning. Kerrie knows how beautiful and confident her lash extensions make her feel. So she decided she wanted you to have the same satisfaction when you look in the mirror. Service Breakdown: A full set at orrell design costs $150. Lindsay applies over 80 lash extensions to each eye in about an hour and a half. The full set should last you about a month and then when you notice you're missing some lashes, you come in for a refill, costing $75. If you keep up with the maintenance, lash extensions are worth every penny. They say the eyes are the window to the soul, so why not get some nice curtains? :)

This weekend, orrell design got an opportunity to feature work at the fourth annual Big Hair Ball. The Big Hair Ball is a charity fashion show/ fundraiser presented by The Guild of Family Service of Greensboro Foundation. All contributions benefit this foundation and help change lives all across our community. As Kerrie always says, “You have to give to get!” For the record, it did not feel like charity— it felt like FUN! Our models arrived at the salon Saturday afternoon 4 hours prior to show time. Caleb, Valentin, Brittany and I had signed up to help! Luckily, we had a surprise guest- Miss Kerrie Orrell- Thank Goodness! We needed her help! After hours of sculpting, teasing and prepping we were ready for show time! After going home for a quick refresh and a much needed change of attire- the od team arrived at the Empire Room in downtown Greensboro. There was a raffle during cocktail hour to also raise money. It was so nice to see all of the local businesses coming together to support such a great cause! After the Raffle, we took our seats and waited in excitement to see our girls walk across the stage! First was Brittany’s model. Her sponsor was Classic Construction of NC— so with her own construction, Brittany created beautiful BIG hair into a sculpted style! Second was Kerrie’s model. Her sponsor was BlueZoom graphic design. To incorporate design- Kerrie used lots of different textures and sizes within the hair. Oh and a little touch of blue! Third was my model. My sponsor was Green Ford. So to carry on the "green, earthy” look, I bobby pinned some leaves and branches into the hair! The makeup I kept pretty natural- again to reflect “green”. Fourth to walk was Caleb’s model. His sponsor was Pita Delight. Caleb did a great job referencing some Middle Eastern hair designs as well as keeping it modern and high fashion! Last, but certainly not least, was Valentin’s model. His sponsor was Box Board products. Valentin said the sun was his inspiration as he recreated sun rays with her hair! So cool! |
